Clean Up Drive for Sicpao River

During the community assembly conducted last April 23, 2014, one of the problems identified for Barangay Daniel C Mantos was improper solid waste disposal. A proportion of the people practice burning and throwing of garbage in the river as their mode of solid waste disposal.

Knowing that this river is used as one of the water resources in the community made this problem alarming, and to add that such practices can be contributory to many health problems. Because of this, awareness was raised among the people of the community and just recently, last May 10, 2014, a mass clean up of the Sicpao River was organized by the officials of Barangay Daniel C. Mantos.

It is inspiring to know that even this small step initiated by the community shows how driven and dedicated they are towards change. Knowing a problem exists is one thing, but doing something towards providing a solution is an even better step. With continued efforts, our goal towards a cleaner, greener and healthier community can be achieved. barangay DCM also proved that they can be self-reliant. Indeed, we are confident that with this kind of spirit, all our projects and campaigns can be made sustainable.
